雅思自测模拟题1
1.Do you work or are you a student?
Im a student at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
Im a student, and Im a freshman in Tsinghua University.
Im a student, a high school student.
2.What subject are you studying?
Im studying for a Masters degree in Tsinghua University, specializing in the field of Math Studies.
3.Why did you choose that subject?
I chose math because I liked it in high school. I was always strong in math and science, so it seemed like a natural progression. Also, I did some research on career opportunities, and it seemed to be a subject with a promising future.
4.What would you like to do in the future?
I would love to be a teacher. Most of the women in my family are teachers, they have a huge impact on my life. I think it is wonderful to get to change peoples lives by what I say or do on the stage. It requires a person to be responsible and caring, and I want to be such a person.
5.What are the most popular subjects in China?
Its hard to say nowadays. You know, due to the globalization, our country is much more developed than ever. Every subject has something to offer to the society. Students just choose their subjects based on what they are interested in, which then, in turn, can become a trend.
6.Do you think its important to choose a subject you like?
Definitely! I think interest is the best motivator, if I choose something Im keen on, I will be willing to sacrifice my leisure time because it is a worthwhile sacrifice to me. In addition, when I face some difficulties, I will do my best to overcome the problems. Quitting in the middle will never be an option. We should consider carefully our choice from the start, rather than carelessly choosing the wrong path, then regretting it.
7.Are you looking forward to working?
I have been wanting to work full time, thats for sure. I can now imagine myself waking up early in the morning, getting my business attire on and sitting behind my office desk. I wonder how it feels to work with other professionals and with the boss always around… It could be stressful but interesting, I guess. The best part I would say would be to finally receive a salary and spend my own money. I would not have to bother my parents then. But, like most things in life, it really depends on what the job is and whether the environment is positive or not.
8.Do you like your subject? (Why? / Why not?)
Honestly, I dont. I am halfway through my college career. But reality struck me when the material we learned in class was much more difficult and the assignments werent fun. Im thinking about changing my own major now.
9.Do you prefer to study in the mornings or in the afternoons?
I am not a morning person, Im afraid. But to be honest, studying in the afternoon is even worse. I get really sleepy from one to four in the afternoon. So, actually, my brain is at its best in the evening. It works better then. I can stay sharp even until very late at night.
10.Is your subject interesting to you?
Absolutely. I find computer science really stimulating. Imagine creating something useful just using codes and numbers. It requires a good level of imagination and quite a good level of number skills, critical thinking and logic skills as well as a keen ability to solve problems.
11.Is there any kind of technology you can use in study?
For studying I use a computer and my phone. I often download research papers and read them on my phone and make notes onto the notes section of my phone too. I use my computer to actually write essays and do other homework tasks.
1.What work do you do?
I am a teacher at a high school. I started there in Jan 2015 after graduating from college. I would say it is a pretty challenging job.
2. Why did you choose to do that type of job?
Teaching is my passion. I dont view my career as a "job" per say. I see it more as my calling in life. It is my lifes purpose.
3. Do you like your job?
Definitely! I enjoy the variety and special projects where I can take ownership of the final product. My job provides me with both, so yes, it is a good job and I find it very rewarding.
Im not interested in my job… because it is so mundane and repetitive, two traits I despise and try to stay away from. I hope to find a better job that challenges me to aspire to new heights.
4. Do you miss being a student?
I definitely do! Sometimes I just wonder what would have happened if I had studied harder when I was in university. I just miss the days when I had nothing to worry about but the exams. Now, all the pressure from work and family is difficult to deal with.
5. Is it very interesting?
Most of the time, yes! The daily challenges from new projects provide constant opportunities to learn new things and to some extent re-invent myself. Every day is unique. My colleagues provide me with support but also healthy competition. I find my job most interesting when I am challenged to reach outside of my comfort zone.
6.Is there any kind of technology you use at work?
I use mainly a laptop computer and my phone at work. Sometimes I also use a photocopier scanner, and a video camera if Im making short promotional videos with my company. But mainly, I just use a computer.

I was elated about that trip but I was heartbroken by what I saw.
There was weird and disgusting smell in the air and the muddy water really spoils all the fun for me.
Lots of people had barbecues on the beach but they left plastic bags, barbecue sauce and skewers scattered all over the beach.
And I can see chips of broken glass bottles buried in the sand.
I found remains of fireworks along the coastline; I guess somebody tried to create a romantic atmosphere.
I was extremely disappointed because it was not supposed to be the case. I was told that it used to be a perfect vacation destination, with crystal clear water and everything. People could have fun on the beach or in the shallow water, but now, I wouldn’t dare to walk on the sand barefoot ‘cause I was afraid that the chips of glass would cut my sole.
All the garbage pollution was definitely an eyesore for visitors, no wonder we were charged so little for this trip.
除了海边,大家也可以写古镇啦,高山啦之类的,环境污染这么严重,把这道题变得太简单了不是么……

A tourist attraction
Describe a tourist attraction that you have visited. You should say
What the attraction was
When you visited it
Why you went there
And say whether you enjoyed the visit or not
这是雅思口语考试中常考的话题,我把它归类为:地点或经历,这样就可以减少范围备考
自然 – approach 1
下面给出的'考官范例就是教会你自然的说:
节奏掌握好啊,放松你会感到自然为止
relaxation – the more relaxed you feel, the better you will speak normally
一分钟要利用好
I’m going to tell you about the the last time I visited the National Gallery in London – I guess that counts as a tourist attraction – it’s certainly always really busy and there are any number of tourists there – It’s popular I suppose because it’s completely free and that’s slightly unusual for a major art gallery nowadays – If you compare it with The Louvre in Paris for example that’s really pricey and you normally have to queue for hours at a time – The National Gallery is different not just because it’s free but you can walk right in without waiting.
I go there quite a lot – in fact I try to go and visit it whenever I’m in London – I’m fascinated by art and art history and I just like to wander around and look at all the masterpieces that are on display there -Typically I go for about an hour or so only because I lose concentration after a time.
Well – the last I went there was sometime in December – just before Christmas I think – there was certainly a Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square just outside – I was in London to do some shopping and I decided to pop into the National to see if there was a new exhibition on – There wasn’t but I did see that there was a sensational Veronese exhibition planned for April this year – So I what I did was just spend my time looking at some of Turner’s watercolours.
Did I enjoy it? Certainly – the National is one place I’ll never tire of and I’m sure that I will keep on going back there. It’s for me – sort of – one of the greatest art galleries in the world and I think it’s thaat’s why it’s such a popular tourist attraction.
雅思自测模拟题6
Environmental protection is no doubt a major issue confronting the modern society with the development of new technologies and the explosion of world population. While the issue is certainly relevant to each individual citizen and all the companies, some people contend that only the government should be concerned about protecting the environment. I concede that the government should lead the efforts in addressing the environmental problems. Nevertheless, cooperation and participation from the corporations and individual citizens are essential as well.
There is no doubt that the government is the agency that should play the leading roles in solving the environmental problems. To begin with, with the power to collect taxes from individual citizens and private companies, the government have the financial resources that are necessary to deal with environmental issues. In addition, the government may formulate policies to provide incentives for the companies and individuals to reduce the amount of pollution caused by their activities. Finally, the government is the only institution that may enact laws related to environmental problems. s.
On the other hand, without the cooperation and participation of individual citizens and private companies, the governments efforts to protect the environment would not be effective. For example, the government may launch a campaign to educate the public about the desirability of driving compact cars for reducing the air pollution. The campaign would make little difference if the individuals pay little attention to the information or do not care about the environment at all. Nor would the governments goal be achieved if the car manufacturers do not produce more compact cars for the market. In other words, the government alone cannot solve the problem of environment. It takes the collaborative efforts from individual and corporate citizens to improve the situation. on.
In conclusion, I agree that the government should take the responsibility to lead the society in addressing the problems of environmental pollution as it has the power and resources necessary to do so. Nonetheless, individual citizens and private companies have to be engaged if the government is to accomplish anything.

雅思自测模拟题8
In my opinion, an egalitarian society is one in which everyone has the same rights and the same opportunities. I completely agree that people can achieve more in this kind of society.
Education is an important factor with regard to personal success in life. I believe that all children should have access to free schooling, and higher education should be either free or affordable for all those who chose to pursue a university degree. In a society without free schooling or affordable higher education, only children and young adults from wealthier families would have access to the best learning opportunities, and they would therefore be better prepared for the job market. This kind of inequality would ensure the success of some but harm the prospects of others.
I would argue that equal rights and opportunities are not in conflict with people’s freedom to succeed or fail. In other words, equality does not mean that people lose their motivation to succeed, or that they are not allowed to fail. On the contrary, I believe that most people would feel more motivated to work hard and reach their potential if they thought that they lived in a fair society. Those who did not make the same effort would know that they had wasted their opportunity. Inequality, on the other hand, would be more likely to demotivate people because they would know that the odds of success were stacked in favour of those from privileged backgrounds.
In conclusion, it seems to me that there is a positive relationship between equality and personal success.
The map shows the growth of a village called Chorleywood between 1868 and 1994.
It is clear that the village grew as the transport infrastructure was improved. Four periods of development are shown on the map, and each of the populated areas is near to the main roads, the railway or the motorway.
From 1868 to 1883, Chorleywood covered a small area next to one of the main roads. Chorleywood Park and Golf Course is now located next to this original village area. The village grew along the main road to the south between 1883 and 1922, and in 1909 a railway line was built crossing this area from west to east. Chorleywood station is in this part of the village.
The expansion of Chorleywood continued to the east and west alongside the railway line until 1970. At that time, a motorway was built to the east of the village, and from 1970 to 1994, further development of the village took place around motorway intersections with the railway and one of the main roads.
I am writing to seek accommodation in the Snowy Mountains for agroup of students from Perth.

The five men will accept dormitory accommodation, and the women are happy to share rooms, but the married couple would like a double room. We hope to keep our expenses as low as possible.
Please tellme about recreational services in the area. The group will bring their own boots for bushwalking, but we are hoping to hire equipment for other sports, likes kiing. Some of our group will want to hire geological picks and other equipment, if possible. We also need to know about access to caves and other interesting geological features in the area.
I am looking forward toreceiving information about the Student Hostel Services and other facilities.
雅思自测模拟题9
The relative importance of natural talent and training is a frequent topic of discussion when people try to explain different levels of ability in, for example, sport, art or music.
Obviously, education systems are based on the belief that all children can effectively be taught to acquire different skills, including those associated with sport, art or music. So from our own school experience, we can find plenty of evidence to support the view that a child can acquire these skills with continued teaching and guided practice.
However, some people believe that innate talent is what differentiates a person who has been trained to play a sport or an instrument, from those who become good players. In other words, there is more to the skill than to a learned technique, and this extra talent cannot be taught, no matter how good the teacher or how frequent a child practices.
I personally think that some people do have talents that are probably inherited via their genes. Such talents can give individuals a facility for certain skills that allow them to excel, while more hard-wokring students never manage to reach a comparable level. But, as with all questions of nature versus nurture, they are not mutually exclusive. Good musicians or artists and exceptional sports star have probably succeeded because of both good training and natural talent. With the natural talent, continuous training would be neither attractive nor productive, and without the training, the child would not learn how to exploit and develop their talent.ent.
In conclusion, I agree that any child can be taught particular skills, but to be really good in areas such as music, art or sport, then some natural talent is required.
