College Students’ Starting Their Own Undertakings

Nowadays there are many college students who choose to start their own undertakings instead of finding a job after graduation. The government encourages this practice, and provides many preferential policies and facilitation measures for college students. This phenomenon has aroused great concern from the whole society.

However, why do so many college students take the way of starting their own undertakings? Firstly, college students are facing severe employment situations. Many college graduates couldn’t find ideal jobs, which forces them to set up their own businesses. Moreover, some ambitious college students are not satisfied with being employed by others. They want to develop and prove their talents by running their own businesses. Besides, the government’s encouragement and the media’s reports on college students venture stars have stimulated more college students’ enthusiasm to take this way.

As for me, it is a good choice for college students to start their own undertakings. However, it is a very difficult cause, which needs firm determination, clear mind, ability to endure hardship and a feasible project. Therefore, think it over and make full preparation before you decide to start your own business.

at that night, father was very tired and went into sleep soon with his thundering snore. mother still kept herself busy and went bed at mid night. as usual, she lay on bed to plot her working plan tomorrow and dimly went to sleep later.

suddenly, a faint sound from ladder awaked her. she boosted up her strength and found a thief was silently coming down with a bundle of lit incense on hand. with constant incenses shaking to find his way, he passed the living room and directly went to the main hall as swift as a cat.

“here is a thief!” mother awaked my father in undertone. “what!” he woke up with a start and let out a cry. however, when he found the opened door and the darkness behind, he immediately went into a panic. his legs were shivering and couldn’t move. he had to hold a bamboo knight and swatted on the desk. “what a damnable…. thief! how dare…. you are….. to steal …..my possessions!” father shouted with a shivery tone.

the thief knew well my father’s inward weakness and completely ignored him. he was too busy helping himself to money to notice any warming. to unlock this deadlock, my mother realized the urgent need of other’s support. “help!” “help us to catch the thief!” she was shouting again and again.

the noise woke up one of my neighbors next door, deaf grocery’s landlady. she awoke her husband loudly: “get up quickly, deaf man! our neighbor is stolen!” she said. the deaf man rushed to the street and blocked our main gate, “how dare are your guy! come out and fight to me! i am challenging your devil.” he shouted with a shoulder pole shaking on hands.

heard a brave shouting and metallic chugging, the thief thought he had been besieged by police and hastily fled from the back door.

Should Graduates Spend Much on Job Hunting?

Should Graduates Spend Much on Job Hunting? Nowadays college graduates spend more and more money on job hunting. According to a recent survey, almost every graduate spends some money on finding a job. And clothing, transportation, resumes producing and training expense are the main aspects that cost them a lot of money.

As to this phenomenon, different people have different views. Some say it is necessary for graduates to spend money in producing embellished resumes and buying suitable clothes, which can give interviewers a good impression and increase their chance of success. However, others dont think so. They argue that the high expenditure can increase their parents financial burden since most students have no regular income. Apart from that, the decorated resumes do little help to find a job because most HR managers pay more attention to skills.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong for graduates to invest some money on job hunting. But they should bear in mind that it is their knowledge, skills as well as experience that matter a lot. So they must have a rational attitude toward what they should buy and how much money they should spend.

Ways to Get Over Information Explosion As a popular saying goes, "A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention.

" Nowadays we are in an era of information explosion.

More and more people complain that they are lost in the information age.

Admittedly, no one can deny the fact that the new information age has brought us so much convenience that we are allowed to get plenty of information just with a simple click sitting in front of the computers.

Nevertheless we are also confused, annoyed, distracted and upset by an incredibly large quantity of information.

For example, when searching for something online, people are easily misguided by irrelevant information and forget their original plan.

Besides, some information often turns out to be useless.

Therefore, it may be time-consuming and troublesome to search information online.

Then what can we do to avoid being distracted by irrelevant information?

Here are some useful tips: Firstly, make a list of what you really want before your searching.

In this case, you can easily leave some advertisements and useless information behind.

  part 2

The environment is usually changed to benefit human life.

Cars and roads make transportation fast and easy, factories make products that make our lives more comfortable, public services in cities like water treatment, electricity, and waste disposal make our lives more convenient.

All of these advances, however, come with a significant environmental cost.

Human activity does significant damage to the Earth.

One of the main effects of human activity on an area is water pollution.

Dumping waste materials from human activity into rivers and streams is popular because the waste seems to disappear downstream.

The main sources of water pollution are factory waste, oil and gas runoff from highways, and untreated human waste.

When this waste dumped into rivers, the water downstream becomes undrinkable and unusable for agriculture, and also kills plant and animal life in the rivers.

Clean air and water is a prerequisite not only for human life, but also for all life on the planet.

But air is now being polluted by modern transportation, notably gas-powered automobiles, as well as electrical generators that burn fossil fuels and pour polluting chemical waste into the air.

This makes the air much less healthy to breathe.

The air-borne pollution also falls back to the earth in the form of acid rain, which destroys plant life and human buildings.

Another serious long-term effect of air pollution is global warming.

For the past several decades scientists have noted a disturbing rise in the average temperature of the earth that caused by the rise of greenhouse gases, air pollutants created by burning fossil fuels, in the atmosphere.

Scientists believe that if humans continue to increase the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the temperature of the earth will continue to rise.

Eventually, this could melt the polar ice caps and cause devastating costal flooding all over the world.

Major cities like Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Dalian might be totally destroyed.

Therefore, I believe human activity has caused serious problems while it has improved the world in which we live.

It is time to realize this hazard and take action to prevent further disaster while making progress.

  My View on Job-Hopping

Many people are inclined to do one job in their lives. In their opinions, people who change their jobs frequently are superficial and tactless. They believe that the only way to success is to stick to one job, for constant practice in a professional field helps make an txpert.

But there are still many people who don’t agree. They argue that change means progress. If you are not satisfied with your present job, of course you have the right to replace it with a more challenging and better paid one. Every change is a step to further success. This idea may be. the reason why they change their jobs so often.

For my part, I think it reasonable to change your job if you have a better opportuniry. But once you have found a position where you can fully display your ability, it is advisable to settle down to it and put all your efforts into it. Only in this way, can you get the true joy of achieving your goal.

Want to be a small fish in a big pond or the other way round? Every graduate faces this question when starting his career. A large number of college graduates prefer to stay in big cities, which mean more experiences, more opportunities to see the big world and more space for career development. At the same time, higher salary is another temptation。

But some other graduates intend to start in small towns. Even though there may not be many big companies, they can have a quieter and less competitive life. Another reason is that they can be a big fish in a small pond. They can easily get the management’s attention and may win promotion earlier。

As far as I am concerned, I prefer to start in a metropolis like Shanghai. A good begin is half the battle, and in Shanghai I can find a job in a big company where I can meet people from different places and cultures. I will learn from them what I can not get from textbooks.

Nowadays, more and more university graduates complain that graduation does not equate to employment. They experience great difficulties finding satisfactory jobs. What is the cause of this phenomenon

In my opinion, there are four causes:

First, graduates lack experience. They spend most of their time at school studying academic subjects and lack relevant job training. Only after graduation do they realize it’s hard to find jobs.

Second, competition among graduates grows more bitter and more bitter and bitter. The supply of university graduates exceeds social demand. This results in a decreased chance for any individual graduate to find a job.

Third, some students don’t study hard. Some of them skip classes just because they have no interest in certain subjects. Some play computer games or pursue other interests. Some sleep in class or in the library. Then they leave the sheltered environment of the university campus, to discover they don’t have adequate knowledge to apply for many positions, which makes them feel lost and frustrated.

Finally, some graduates are conceited. They lack experience but ask for a high salary, which is impractical.

So, university students should try their best to change this situation. When they are in school, they should make the most of their time and put their heart into their studies. They can hold part-time jobs in their spare time to accumulate relevant work experience. They should take part in some social activities and provide themselves with special training, if possible. When they graduate and apply for jobs, they should attach more importance to accumulating experience than to their starting salary.

On University Students’ Pressure in Finding Jobs

About a decade ago, university students could find satisfactory and enviable jobs after their graduation. But now, things are different. Today's university students usually have much pressure in finding fairly good jobs. They always say disappointedly that graduation means joblessness. Why nowadays university students have so much pressure in finding jobs?

In my opinion, this kind of pressure is mainly caused by three reasons. Firstly, the government is enrolling more and more university students year by year. And the growth of the students' number has surpassed that of the need of the society. So, when so many students graduate at a time, the chance of finding jobs becomes tiny. Secondly, today's university students, most of them are the "only-child", who are more mentally frail. Since they are indulged greatly at home and haven't been trained to do things on their own, once it is their turn to go out of the campus and find jobs by themselves and decide what kind of jobs to choose, they feel bewildered and don't know what to do. If their first try fails, they will be frustrated and think that it is really hard to find jobs. Thirdly, some university students are not qualified for good and challenging jobs. After entering the university, they don't study as hard as they did in high schools. They begin to sleep during the class or even be absent for classes. Some are addicted to computer games or Jin Yong's novels, or step into the two-person-world too early. Because these things have taken up so much of their time and energy, their study is neglected. After four years of university life, they haven't gained the knowledge those fairly good jobs or certain positions require.

  opportunities [ptjunt] n.

  development [dvlpmnt] n.

  competitive [kmpttv] adj.

  disappointedly [dis'pitidli] adv. 失望地
